The Ardelaine cooperative () is situated in Saint-Pierreville () in the heart of the Eyrieux valley. Its activity processing the wool from 230 sheep farmers has allowed the creation of about thirty jobs.
The on site shop () (and even the on-line one ) offers a complete range of articles made by the business using environmentally sound procedures ().
Guided visits (), include ‘the secrets of wool’ up to today, where you can see sheep, workshops, machines, events…
After the creation of the Living Wool Museum () in 1991, the “la Cerise sur l’Agneau” restaurant () opened its doors on the Ardelaine site (). Local seasonal products, mostly from organic agriculture are widely covered in the menu.
Wool works from Ardèche sheep using processes that respect the environment. Wool is a natural fibre which is renewable and biodegradable and has outstanding natural insulating, hygroscopic and fire-resistant properties.
For the restaurant : established in partnership with Scop Ardelaine cooperative, the restaurant works to the same criteria – aimed at promoting local resources, ecology and a solidarity-based economy.*************
