The Ardeche train

From panoramic carriages, passengers can view the most inaccessible part of the Doux gorges. Man-made structures overhang the river along the route: pitons and chaotic piles of rocks provide the passengers with views of an untouched and preserved landscape! At the charming little station of Colombier le Vieux – Saint-Barthélémy le Plain, the locomotive has to be turned round on a swing bridge and placed at the front of the train. It only takes two men to carry out the operation by hand. A sight worth seeing !
