The house’s garden, which is enclosed, protected and sunny, is lush with flowers (wisteria, hydrangeas, roses, lilies, begonias, etc.) and small palm trees.
Situated 200 to 300 m from a wide range of local shops (food, clothes, banks, restaurants, cafés, bookshops, etc.).
Not far from several large shopping centres, either in St Etienne de Fontbellon (3 km) or in Ponson (1.5 km).
Every Saturday morning, 5 minutes from the house, there is a lively and friendly weekly market on the Place du Château and in the surrounding streets.
Near Aubenas, there are a number of small towns and villages, most of them very beautiful and picturesque. Vals-les-bains spa (7 km). The beautiful villages of Vogüé, Balazuc, Mirabel, Ailhon, Antraigues, Thueyts, etc. (all between 7 and 25 km).
. The famous Gorges de l’Ardèche are close by, particularly from Pont d’Arc (35 km), with the famous Grotte Chauvet (35,000-year-old paintings) 33 km away.
The three main areas for excursions by car and hiking are :
to the north, the mountainous, green and cool ‘Plateau’ (Gerbier de jonc, Lac d’Issarlès) ;
to the south, the Ardèche Gorges and their deep caves;
to the west, the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Park, the Cévenne ardéchoise and its many villages (Les Vans, Valgorge, La Beaume, etc.).
