La Coupe d'Aizac

The Coupe d’Aizac is a strombolian type volcano and features as a listed ‘Young Volcanoes of the Ardèche’ site under the framework of the Monts d’Ardèche geoparks. Its basalt rock columns line the Volane river as far as the entry to the Vals-les Bains township. An interpretation trail around the volcano provides information about the volcano and the rocks along the way. (A walking guide is for sale at the tourist office.)
