More information

The Castrevieille castle from the 13thC. at the entrance of the village, a typical southern France building, the Bruget castle on the "route des Roudils" from the 14thC., and the Rochemure castle which will soon become the head office of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park. Jaujac is also well known for its volcanic heritage. The "coupe de Jaujac", in other words, a former volcano, was the last one to become extinct in the Vivarais region and is about 11,000 years old. It is now covered by a chestnut tree grove. Nearby, outstanding basalt flows and the Roman bridge over the Chastelas river.
