The Ray-Pic Waterfalls

TONIC AND VOLCANIC

This truly unforgettable waterfall was classified as an outstanding natural site as early as 1931. The water cascades down a 200ft.-high basalt lava flow that solidified some 30- to 40,000 years ago. At an altitude of 1,000m, it is visible in the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park, between the villages of Pereyres and Lachamp Raphaël. Twenty minutes off the D215 road, ramblers can catch sight of this impressive natural waterfall. Tourists should bear in mind that on-site bathing/swimming is forbidden.
