Canoeing from Vogüé/Balazuc to St Martin d'Ardèche – 56 km / 4 days with Canoës Service
Two days to discover the Pont d'Arc and the Réserve Naturelle des Gorges de l'Ardèche, with an overnight stay in a bivouac halfway along the route – now that's adventure!
Departure at 10am, 11am or 12pm Return at 5pm the next day
You need to plan a bivouac in the Gorges between the 2 days’ sailing: Bivouac at Gaud: 3 hours’ sailing; Bivouac at Gournier: 4 and a half hours’ sailing. Remember to book your bivouac tickets in advance.
What you need to know: Be in good physical condition, be able to swim, be over 7 years old.
What to wear: Old trainers or water sandals (shoes that hold your feet). For your safety, avoid laces. Long shorts and T-shirt (beware of sunburn). Cap, sunglasses, not forgetting the little cord to fasten them. Off-season: bring a woollen jumper next to your skin and a windbreaker + a change of clothes on arrival. Neoprene wetsuits can be hired.
In any case, don’t forget: camping gear (sleeping bags, change of clothes, warm clothes for the evening), swimming costume and towel, sufficient water (1.5 litres per person per day). Refreshments available at the bivouacs. Picnic lunch for the 2 days (no food that can spoil in the heat). Avoid taking rings, chains or other fragile or valuable items.
