Excursion by minibus : Grotte Chauvet 2

On the heights of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, admire the most important replica of an ornate cave in the world: an extraordinary collection of paintings, drawings and engravings, a true heritage of humanity. Other departure points are available on request.

Two spaces: the replica, the Aurignacian Gallery

The visit to Grotte Chauvet 2 recreates the magic and conditions of the original cave.

Through a walkway punctuated by 10 stations for stopping and observation, and in the middle of stalagmites and stalactites, the animals sublimely drawn by our Aurignacian ancestors emerge from the darkness.

In the cool, damp atmosphere, the sound and smell worlds are faithfully reproduced, offering you total immersion.

After the emotion, the explanation. In an interactive and playful scenography, the Aurignacian Gallery allows you to better understand the culture of our ancestors, the techniques of cave art, and the animals that were once their models.

These two spaces will feed you with wonders and knowledge.

Experience a moment out of time, or rather 36,000 years ago, when the Woolly Mammoth fed in the Ardèche Valley!
