Bidon
Nearby the Gorges de l’Ardèche, this small village is situated in the heart of a limestone plateau surrounded by “garrigue” plants and trees with their pleasant fragrances. The medieval past of Bidon is still present in its narrow little streets.
The approximately 23 000 year old cave paintings of the “Grotte de la Tête du Lion” testify that the area around Bidon was already inhabited during prehistoric times. Throughout the Neolithic, men erected here numerous dolmens and one of the rare menhirs in the Ardèche.
