Chapelle du Prédicant

A 12th-century Romanesque chapel overlooking the Ouvèze valley. The fully restored Prédicant chapel is now renowned for the classical music concerts it hosts.

The GR42A takes you to the Prieuré de Rompon, known as the "convent of the goats", located between the Rhône and Vieux Rompon. Founded in 977 by 12 monks from Cluny, it reached its peak between the 10th and 12th centuries, with the construction of a large Romanesque church. St Pierre de Rompon then fell into decline after being bought out by the de Poitiers Valentinois family. The Wars of Religion around 1562 destroyed it.
