Pont de Veyrières dam

The Pont de Veyrières dam was built in 1986 on the Fontaulière river. Operated by EDF for hydroelectric generation, it supplies drinking water to the southern Ardèche and helps to keep the river at low water levels. Can be visited in July and August, subject to registration.

Not open to the public. Accessible during guided tours by hydroguides according to schedule (between July and September).

Conditions of access to the visit :
– Must be over 8 years old.
– MANDATORY ID required at the entrance to the site (ID card) + VALID PPS (Health Prevention Programme): to be completed on https://pps.athle.fr/.
– Flat, closed shoes, covering clothing required.
– No people prone to vertigo or claustrophobia, no pregnant women, people with respiratory problems or heart problems.
– Good physical condition (stairs). Before each visit, the person has checked the conditions of access and confirms that they have no motor problems, no joint pain, no dizziness, no claustrophobia, not pregnant, no respiratory problems (asthma), no heart problems (no pacemaker).
– No backpacks or bulky handbags to keep your hands free.
-Photos and videos inside the enclosure are strictly forbidden.
– Maximum capacity per visit: 15 people. Minimum capacity: 7, tour cancelled if not reached.
– Limited capacity, booking required. Once your registration has been confirmed, meet at 2pm at the Pont-de-Veyrières dam, in front of the blue-roofed kiosk (Le Plot, 07380 MEYRAS). In front of the barrier (next to the bus stop). GPS: 44°41’16.8″N 4°16’28.5″E.
