Concert: ‘Duo Albaicin: guitar and cello’
The former Bourlatier farm, a 17th-century building emblematic of the architecture of the Ardèche mountains, presents the concert ‘The Albaicin Duo: guitar and cello’ in partnership with Labeaume en Musiques, a venue recognised as being of national interest – Art en Territoire
Labeaume en Musiques presents, for the first time at the Ferme de Bourlatier, the poignant and talented Albaicín duo – guitar and cello – in a unique programme where the cello takes on the role of a voice… Parfois… a mysterious song that transcends tradition, featuring Matthieu Lemennicier’s song cycle written in 2024. At times… a Spanish folk song, featuring a few ‘hits’ such as Manuel de Falla’s Siete Canciones Populares Espanolas and original arrangements by lesser-known composers such as Jesús Guridi and Ferran Obradors… yet whose music is intoxicating. The colours, scents and warmth of Spain in the heart of the Ardèche mountains!
The duo also includes works of their own composition in their programme, including Chemins d’avant les mots, commissioned by Labeaume en Musiques.
Performers: Lise Péchenart, cello (a musician trained at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Lyon and a teacher at the Conservatoire de Privas Centre Ardèche) and Matthieu Lemennicier, guitar (a musician trained at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris and a teacher at the Conservatoire de Privas Centre Ardèche)
