European Heritage Days – “Cabinetmaking and TSF"
Guided tour of a unique place combining craft heritage, family history and a passion for vintage radio, in the former cabinetmaking workshop of Émile Chareyron.
A true Aladdin’s cave to some, and to others a remarkable example of the heritage of traditional woodworking crafts, this guided tour invites you to discover several parts of a building designed in 1953 to house Émile Chareyron’s family cabinetmaking business.
We will begin with an overview from the garden, before entering the cabinetmaking workshop, which has remained almost exactly as it was when the business ceased operating. We will then explore Robert Chareyron’s passion, Émile’s son: TSF (wireless radio). Climbing several floors, we will discover his astonishing collection of radios, almost all of which are still in working order.
A fascinating dive into the world of woodworking artists and into the workshop of a true DIY genius!
The tour will be narrated by Luc Chareyron, author and actor, son of Robert and grandson of Émile Chareyron.
