As part of European Heritage Days, come and discover the Burzet clock tower and its recently restored mechanism. A 20-minute guided tour is available, subject to booking on 06 13 44 74 81. Access is limited due to the confined space.
The clock tower overlooks the village of Burzet. Built in 1906 on the site of the former medieval castle, it houses a clock mechanism dating from the early 20th century, which was restored in 2021.
This tour will give you the chance to explore the tower, learn about its history and discover how its mechanism works. The mechanism is of the Comtoise clock type and is included on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Tours are available from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm, by booking on 06 13 44 74 81. Duration: approximately 20 minutes. Access is limited; tours are for groups of two or more people.
Access on foot from the town centre. Parking available at the Cèdres car park.
