Historic reconstruction of the first hot-air balloon flight
Step back in time and take part in the re-enactment of the first hot-air balloon flight on Place des Cordeliers in Annonay, and celebrate this historic date.
Since 1983, which marked the bicentenary of this discovery, a faithful, costumed re-enactment has taken place every year in Annonay. Organized by the "Les Montgolfières d'Annonay" association, this event has become a highlight of local life, and one not to be missed! A replica of the paper balloon, heated with straw, is performed in period costume on the historic site of the first flight, the Place des Cordeliers, in the heart of Annonay.
