To mark the European Heritage Days, the ruins of Boulogne Castle are open for self-guided tours.
Built between the 13th and 16th centuries on a rocky outcrop, this impressive Gothic fortress overlooks the Boulogne Valley. Follow the marked trail to discover the remains of the castle, its outer walls, the Casso Tower and part of the rampart walk.
Listed as a Historic Monument since 1915, Boulogne Castle is one of the area’s major heritage sites. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore a place that is usually closed to the public and admire the views over the landscapes of Saint-Michel-de-Boulogne.
