Viviers marina: ALLES IN ORDNUNG

Alles in Ordnung, “Everything is in order”, enables Nicolas Faure to visually translate situations where confusion, incongruity and disorder seem to reign. With his formally rigorous framing, the artist not only documents chaos, but also reorganizes it. What appears accidental, unstable or disorderly becomes a contemporary landscape. As an attentive witness to these metamorphoses, Nicolas Faure surveys the world on the edge of reportage and the tradition of landscape painting. Through the photographic act, frozen in the illusion of an eternal present, the image becomes the site of a tension between permanence and impermanence, an in-between where the photographer watches for movements in his world and reveals them to us.

Belvédère de Châteauvieux: ONE PHOTO A DAY

The collective is made up of amateur and professional photographers who upload a daily image taken that same day to: www.unephotoparjour.ch/ Sharing one’s view of the world and one’s immediate environment with others is the aim of this site. Photographers are free to share their point of view, whether square, color, black and white or blurred, in little poems, with text, annotations or captions, as they see fit.

One image a day means forcing the eye to be vigilant; it means stopping, stepping back, framing, reflecting and capturing a moment: it means nourishing desire with light, through the eyes, and bringing it to life… Thousands of images later, the collective offers a selection of images representative of its ability to capture the world, as seen from Switzerland or elsewhere.

The only constraint on the members of the collective is to string images together, day after day, so that an uninterrupted photographic string unfolds, on which we can navigate as we please. Beyond these prolific babblings (to be prolific is, of course, to be unequal!) shines a daily routine knitted with anecdotes that in no way exhaust the photographic impulse. Some shake up reality, sometimes with impertinence, some are content to pick up moments as they come, others mix self-mockery with creativity. But for each member, invariably, this daily ritual has become essential.
