Join a guide to explore a topic from the temporary exhibition in more depth!
How can you study a cave when you’re not allowed to touch anything?
From 1 to 30 September, join a quick tour of the exhibition every day at 5.30 pm, focusing on the theme ‘Protecting without destroying: the Chauvet challenge’.
Suitable for all ages – Duration: approximately 15 minutes – Science Area (Rhinoceros Room)
The quick tour of the exhibition is included in the admission ticket for the Grotte Chauvet 2 – Ardèche.
The exhibition ‘Chauvet Cave: The Scientific Adventure’ (on display until 3 January 2027) invites you to take a behind-the-scenes look at the research carried out in one of the world’s most extraordinary decorated caves, which has been closed to the public since its discovery in 1994. During your visit, step into the shoes of a scientist and explore the various disciplines involved in unravelling the cave’s secrets!
