We welcome you to our 16th-century farmhouse, set in unspoilt countryside in the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche nature park. At the foot of Mont Gerbier de Jonc and the sources of the Loire.
A dream has come true: We took over the Bachasson farm in September 2011. We've been very close to nature for a long time, and we want to share this magical place at 1360m altitude.
We’ll show you all the beauty of the Ardèche plateau: its various sucs (sara, coux, Mézenc, etc.) its lakes: Issarlès lake, St Martial lake, the Ray Pic waterfall, le Puy en Velay, les Estables, the ruins of the Bonnefoy Charterhouse and Mazan Abbey, the plateau’s memory farm (Bourlatier) and other magical places.
The Bachasson farm dates from the 16th century and is built of local stone with a lauze roof. We have restored it to its authentic, welcoming appearance. There are 7 hectares of grounds to relax in.
A reading room will be at your disposal with a selection of books on nature, the history of the region, etc…
-From the farm there are several routes for hiking, mountain biking and, in winter, snowshoeing.
-An educational trail (approx. 45 minutes) on the Bachasson land will enable residents to learn about the richness of the surrounding environment by providing them with information about the flora, fauna, geography and ancestral and current use of the land. This trail is a simple introduction to the Ardèche plateau.
Electrically-assisted bikes available for hire.
– Huguette and Moïse (two very friendly donkeys), a small farmyard with chickens, rabbits, etc… for an educational approach to animals with children.
Meals prepared with the fruits of the garden’s labour…
