Community Composting
This community composting scheme helps protect the environment and encourages participation in waste sorting. The municipality provides a dedicated site for community composting.
“Biowaste”, or “organic waste”, consists of garden waste (green plants, grass clippings, pruning waste, etc.) and kitchen waste (food waste, leftovers from meal preparation, etc.). In the presence of air, water and microorganisms (bacteria and fungi), these biodegradable materials transform into compost. Similar to potting soil, compost is a natural fertiliser that can be used to enrich the soil and promote plant growth.
