Winery Saint Clair – Denis Basset

Created in 2007, Domaine Saint Clair is a family-run winery located in Beaumont-Monteux. Covering 18 hectares of organically farmed land, it produces white and red Crozes-Hermitage appellation wines, as well as red Saint-Joseph.

At Domaine Saint Clair, wine is above all a story of passion, transmission and family. The adventure began in 1967, when Lucien Basset planted his first vines in Beaumont-Monteux. A horticulturist by trade, he laid the foundations for a strong bond with the land. A few years later, his son Denis Basset took over the family business. For a long time, he divided his time between horticultural crops and vineyards, growing Syrah in particular, before entrusting each harvest to the Tain-l'Hermitage cooperative winery. A decisive turning point came in 2007: Denis put an end to horticulture, built his own winery and vinified his own wines for the first time. Domaine Saint Clair was born. The name echoes a significant event in Denis' life: an electrical accident in the vineyards on Saint Clair's day. Today, the estate is committed to organic farming and produces white and red Crozes-Hermitage and a red Saint-Joseph.
