Prehistoric zoo of Marzal

Set in a shady park, this two-hectare zoo lets you observe various dinosaurs along an 800-metre trail, accessible to all! Discover these incredible life-size animals that populated the earth millions of years ago.

France's first prehistoric zoo, created in 1983. Life-size scenes of prehistoric animals and figures created under the supervision of paleontologists in a 3-hectare park. Travel back in time with period and era classifications for each species.

Come face-to-face with tyrannosaurs, stegosaurids, mammoths, triceratops, brachiosaurs and many other giant creatures, during an extraordinary epic adventure lasting around an hour! n an 800 m-long undergrowth trail, accessible to all, you’ll discover more than 20 life-size scenes of prehistoric animals (dinosaurs and others).

Located in Saint-Remèze, in the heart of the Ardèche Gorges, we offer three activities on our site:
– A museum: the Museum of the Underground World, retracing the evolution of the equipment used by speleologists.
– A cave cave: l’aven grotte Marzal, a fabulous adventure in the heart of the earth, with a 45-minute guided tour taking you to a depth of 125 meters underground, with the possibility of visiting with audioguides in English, German and Dutch.
– A prehistoric zoo: La forêt des dinos (the dinosaur forest), along an 800-metre trail in the middle of the forest, you’ll find life-size reconstructed dinosaurs.

From 04/04 to 30/06/2026 on Wednesday and weekends between 10.30 am and 5.30 pm.

From 01/07 to 31/08/2026 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday and bank holidays between 10.30 am and 5.30 pm.
