The Parc des Monts d’Ardèche rock collection is an open-air rock library situated next to the Maison du Parc. It features a collection of rocks that are emblematic of the Ardèche region and bear witness to the area’s geological history.
Dating from 250 million years ago to 15,000 years ago, these stones offer an insight into the diversity of rocks and help visitors better understand how the landscapes of the Monts d’Ardèche were formed. Each rock is accompanied by an explanatory panel providing further information on its origin and history.
Set up with the help of the Ardèche Geological Society, the rock collection showcases the local geological heritage and invites visitors of all ages to explore the history of the landscapes through a collection of rocks.
