Ideally situated between the Ardèche mountains, the Ardèche gorges and the regional nature park, the gîte is a 5-minute walk from the characterful village of Jaujac (800m), with its many restaurants and shops, as well as a lovely local market (Tuesday morning) on the Place du Champ de Mars. The gîte is 10 minutes from Neyrac-les-Bains and Vals-les-Bains.
Nearby towns: VALS-LES-BAINS and AUBENAS.
Swimming nearby: in the Lignon river, the La Souche lake, the basaltic flows, the Roman bridge and also the possibility of discovering the Parc Parc house and the volcano (the Coupe de Jaujac).
Activities: numerous hiking and mountain-biking trails, accrobranche (tree climbing), paintball, horse-riding centre and swimming pool at Pont de Labeaume/Vals-les-Bains.
Coming out of season? Discover the Croix de Bauzon, the Croix de Millet and the Col de Mérand for magnificent views that are unique in the Ardèche. Further north, you’ll find must-sees like the Plateau Ardéchois, the Ray-Pic waterfall, Lake Issarlès and Mont Gerbier-de-Jonc. And to the south: Vallon-Pont-d’Arc, the Grotte Chauvet 2 and the Gorges de l’Ardèche, just 45 minutes from the Gîte (by car), as well as the Ruoms market on Friday mornings.
