La bergerie du château

Lost deep in the forests of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park, this former stone sheepfold sleeps up to 8 guests and offers a return to the essentials: silence, nature and the raw beauty of deepest Ardèche.
Tucked away on the heights of Saint-Barthélemy-le-Meil (Col de Buriane, 750m altitude), this carefully restored sheepfold blends authenticity with modern comfort. Here there are no neighbours, no traffic noise, only birdsong and light filtering through the chestnut and pine trees.
The typically Ardèche architecture, with schist stone walls and exposed beams, tells centuries of pastoral history. The warm, fully renovated interior invites complete disconnection after days of hiking or exploring the massif.
From the terrace, the view plunges into the secret Talaron valley, with its pine forests, chestnut groves and old agricultural terraces carved into the hillside. A panorama you never tire of, from sunrise to sunset.
