La Providence

Furnished accommodation and Gîtes

Let discover the unique charm of La Providence: 400 years of history through a treasure hunt created especially for this exceptional venue.
La Providence was built in the 17th century by Thomas Fourel, a royal notary. His descendants enlarged and embellished it to turn it into a private mansion, which was occupied in the 19th century by the sister of the last Marquis de Satillieu, before becoming the novitiate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, who transformed the house into a ‘home economics centre’ in the 20th century.

Two wings converge around a magnificent 17th-century central staircase.
We have already renovated most of the building, preserving its historic character, particularly the sisters’ legacy and the memories they left behind in the village. A few rooms still need finishing touches.

Layout
The ground floor is dedicated to young people, with a spacious games room featuring table tennis, table football, molkky, darts, pétanque, as well as a wide variety of board games. There is also a large lounge opening onto a courtyard with a swimming pool, secured by a sliding terrace. The house is fully child-friendly. With around fifty rooms and a further twenty nooks and crannies, it promises plenty of fun and endless games of hide-and-seek for young and old alike!

On the first floor: three spacious double bedrooms, one of which has its own en-suite bathroom. There is also a bedroom with two single beds. This floor also features a library and tiered seating for the grandchildren’s impromptu performances or film nights!

On the second floor: two double bedrooms, a large dormitory with nine beds (three bunk beds). This floor includes a cosy lounge, a fully equipped music room (with a harmonium, drum kit and djembe), a large kitchen/dining room and a utility room fitted with professional-grade equipment. Direct access to the terraces at the rear of the house allows for large gatherings around a spacious plancha.

On the third floor: a lounge and another dormitory with four beds.
Finally, there is a self-contained flat with direct access to the terraces, which can accommodate up to eight people and comprises a lounge, a kitchenette and a bathroom with a bath.
The house can be hired on its own without the flat, but the flat cannot be hired separately.

No parties or stag/hen do’s.
