Listed on the Inventory of Historical Monuments and built between the end of the 12th century and the beginning of the 13th, the tower is the sole remaining vestige of the mediaeval fortifications of Malpas plateau.
Originally quadrangular, now in ruins, it leans as a result of demolition work following the taking of the village and the fort by Royal troops in 1629.
