Atelier La Pierre Blanche – M. Crémillieux Fabien

In his workshop, Fabien Crémillieux presents his work as a blacksmith and cutler and some of his creations (knives, metalwork and accessories).

The knives are made by hand, according to inspiration and the materials available:
– Fabien is responsible for all stages of manufacture: forging, heat treatment of the steel, assembly, shaping of the handle, leather sheath, etc.
– The blades are made of steel (forged blades, selective tempering, regular use of recycled steel).
– Handles are mainly made from local wood (holm oak, boxwood, juniper, walnut, etc.).
– The leather cases are custom-moulded (vegetable-tanned leather, hand-stitched using the saddle-stitch technique).

For the sake of consistency, Fabien uses mainly holm oak charcoal for the forge (this charcoal is made in a traditional millstone – the charcoal kiln takes place once a year in the Sud-Ardèche and is run by Fabien himself).

All year round : open on Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm.
Reception at the workshop (and knife sharpening at the workshop) every Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm.
Open on other days by appointment.
